I wanted to share a couple of quick tricks to help improve your mindset. These came from Dr. Wayne Dyer and I have found them to be extremely helpful and can shift your mindset incredibly quick. Just say you have a stressful day ahead. As you prepare for your day what is usually running through your head? For many people, it’s imagined (not real) scenarios of everything going wrong. As this scene plays out in your head over and over, what happens to your mindset? It goes fully negative. When your mindset goes fully negative, how well do you think you will approach the day? Not well, obviously.
So, a quick hack that Dr. Dyer taught was to tell yourself “something great is going to happen today” either aloud or silently. Do this as many times as you can and put some emotion into it. That is the operative part. The more emotion you can put into it, the more your brain will believe it.
This can even be tweaked to tackle a specific situation. Say that you have a big presentation to make and your are feeling nervous about it. You can tell yourself “Wow, that went so much better than I thought it would. I absolutely crushed it and everyone loved it..” and tell yourself that a few times (with emotion) and see how your feelings start to shift.
What you are doing in essences is giving your brain a new internal dialogue to focus on. Without conditioning, our minds often go on auto-pilot, and that auto-pilot often times conjures up worst case scenarios.
This trick can be used for almost anything. It’s a great habit to develop to tell yourself, whenever possible, that “something great is going to happen today” and watch your mindset shift..
I hope that everyone has a great day!
